More than one idea

Need environmentally friendly cleaning and washing products only available in shops

Need investment in local produce, reinstate green houses with solar panels, improve our soil, no more chemical pesticides, encourage organic practices, encourage permaculture practices

Plant Seagrass and Trees, encourage gardens that support nature say good bye to lawns, more green spaces in town

ban on water sold in plastic bottles, ban on plastic bags and single use coffee cups

need a much improved bus service, free bus passes for anyone who'll give up their car

Island wide recycling scheme, everything recyclable MUST be recycled

divest financial investments and pensions managed in Jersey

Why the contribution is important

Jersey needs to go for it I want to see brave and bold action we're extremely privileged living in Jersey so we should be doing everything we can to protect Jersey and our planet

To add a note, it would be great to see more shops move towards a system of refillable reusable containers, especially for plastic packaged items.

Jersey Milk should be available in all shops as a simple refill your glass bottle system. This would be much better since: Jersey Dairy wouldn't need to operate packaging, no waste from old cartons, people can buy only the milk they actually need, rather than having to be restricted to two sizes only.

The same should be done for all things like juices and soft drinks and stuff that may be sold in plastic bottles.

There should be universally available free and clean water refill stations, so you can refill your own bottle. Shops should also sell on-tap drinks rather than bottled drinks. Of course these may be more energy intensive so I'm not sure if they would outweigh the negatives, but a feasibility study should definitely be done!

Common purchased things, like pasta, rice, cereal, pet food could probably be sold at sort of refill stations as well rather than wasteful packaging.

Also receipts - it's terrible to see the amount of receipts that get printed then just chucked away. So wasteful. Most people don't want a receipt and would just rather they weren't printed at all. Surely businesses can just digitally store the receipt information than printing out merchant copies as well in this day and age?
