Hydrogen Buses

Implement buses fueled by hydrogen.

Why the contribution is important

Hydrogen buses would significantly reduce transport-related CO2 emissions and would lead the way to further decarbonisation of transport including all government controlled vehicles and taxis and hire cars. Then into privately owed vehicles.

When the only emission from this form of fuel is water and it would not put additional demand on the islands electricity supply I wholly agree with JerseyRon. This is a tried and tested technology with clear benefits to all islanders. https://www.firstgroup.com/[…]/hydrogen-buses

I like this idea in principle, but we need to remember that energy is needed to produce the hydrogen...

Indeed, there is no such thing as free energy. The point is that hydrogen fuel cell vehicles consume hydrogen which can be produced by electrolysis from renewable or nuclear powered electricity thus removing CO2 emissions from the process.
Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, as commented by JKJersey, emit only water vapour as exhaust, thereby eliminating a significant source of CO2 emissions.
