Making it safer to travel on a bicycle

Make it safer for people to commute on their bikes (specifically St. Ouen's Village to Red Houses)

Why the contribution is important

I would hope it would encourage more poeple to do it.

    Yes, I agree! This is why we need a proper public forum (as Glasgow have used commonplace) for members of the public to suggest improvements and identify problems on the routes they would use.

    Bicycles need priority over cars at cycle track junctions. Also safe ways to cross main roads such as where the railway track crosses roads. There is a presumption that the cars have priority, and this needs re-evaluating so that cyclists don't have to keep stopping at every junction which encourages many to cycle on the busy road instead.

    @RoseAnne
    There do seem to be plans for a crossing at Pont Marquet. But they've been talked about since 2018! It's now 2½ years later, why does it take the island so long to do something so simple as to install a few traffic light poles! Honestly though since this is a main walking/cycling route but only a minor road, the green phase should stay green for people on the Railway Walk and only change for the other road when a car needs to get through. This would make it more convenient for cyclists and pedestrians.

    The St Peter's & Grouville cycle tracks should also have priority at all side roads. None of these tracks cross the entrances of any major roads.
